Carol Glazer

President,
New York, NY

Carol Glazer joined NOD in July 2006 as the Executive Director of its National EmployAbility Partnership. She became NOD’s President in October, 2008.

Under her leadership, NOD has doubled its revenues and increased net assets by more than 300 percent; increased its focus on employment by a factor of ten; and developed important new relationships with the US Army, leading employers, national and local foundations, scores of new corporate donors to our programs, and the CEO Council. She put in place NOD’s signature employment demonstrations, Wounded Warrior Careers and Bridges to Business.

For seven years prior to joining NOD, Ms. Glazer was a program development and management consultant to foundations, universities, and nonprofit organizations working to improve conditions in inner-city communities.

From 1996 to 1999, Ms. Glazer was the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. Prior to that, she spent 11 years at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the nation’s largest community development finance organization. Ending her tenure at LISC as Senior Vice President for National Programs, Ms. Glazer served on a five-member senior management team that grew the organization from a staff of forty with $10 million in assets to a $3 billion, 500 staff bank with 36 field offices.

Ms. Glazer holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She has two children, one of whom was born with hydrocephalus and has physical and cognitive disabilities.

Ginna Baker

Development and Communications Associate
New York, NY

Ginna Baker joined NOD in October 2009, serving in an administrative capacity across its broad array of programs from its New York office.

Ms. Baker graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, receiving a double degree in History and English. She has worked as a freelance writer for news, leaflet, and magazine publications since 2003. Articles she has edited have appeared in the Journal of Defense Software Engineering as well as in the proceedings of the Department of Homeland Security Symposium.

Kate Brady

Director of Research
Atlanta, GA

Kate Brady came to the National Organization on Disability from Georgia’s Office of Developmental Disabilities where she was the Director of Employment Policy. She entered the field of disability employment through service provision. Working as a Customized Employment Coordinator, she coordinated Project Exceed, a US Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy Customized Employment Grant intended to support people with high impact of disability in reaching customized employment goals. Ms. Brady also has consulted for the Institute for Human Development and Disability at the University of Georgia, as well as with the National Center on Workforce and Disability at the University of Massachusetts, on best practices in the support of employment for people with disabilities. She earned a BA in Communications & Performing Arts from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, did Masters work in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Clemson University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Psychology.

Anthony Camuso

New Jersey Project Director, Bridges to Business
Bridgewater, NJ

Anthony R. Camuso has worked in the disability arena for 15 years, serving in a variety of direct support roles and management positions including supported employment, residential, and transition services. Most recently he worked as the Director of Operations for the non-profit organization Partnerships for People, Inc., located in northern New Jersey. Prior to that, he worked as a Technical & Consultation Specialist at The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities, UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

While at The Boggs Center, he provided Supported Employment trainings and technical assistance throughout the state. In addition to curriculum research, design, and development, he taught both introductory and advanced level Supported Employment trainings for state and local agencies, educators, families, and community groups. He also provided management trainings for direct support professionals as part of the state's Direct Support Workforce Development initiative.

Mr. Camuso has presented at national and state conferences including both national and NJ APSE (formerly known as the Association of Persons in Supported Employment), American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), NJ Caregivers Conference, The NJ Association for Community Providers (NJACP), and The NY Metro Abilities Expo.

Anne Fitzsimmons

Project & Business Associate, Bridges to Business,
Midlothian, VA

Anne Fitzsimmons joined NOD in June, 2011 to provide project support to NOD’s Bridges to Business program, including presentation development, project tracking and reporting, and database management.

Before joining NOD, Ms. Fitzsimmons worked as an Account Executive with a large healthcare company. She has served in project support roles for several for-profit and non-profit organizations. She graduated from the State University of New York Oswego with a B.A. in Public Justice.

Howard Green

Deputy Director for Corporate Programs 
Richmond, VA

For the past 20 years, Mr. Green served as a faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he also served as Director of Employment Services. In addition, Mr. Green has provided technical assistance and consultation to businesses, community rehabilitation agencies and Vocational Rehabilitation staff. Mr. Green is known as a national trainer on building relationships between business and rehabilitation programs. He has provided a number of training activities across the country on business development for the employment of people with disabilities.

Before his work with VCU, Mr. Green worked as the Marketing Director for the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services. He has been involved with a number of projects and programs which has assisted both the Supply Side and the Demand Side of employment for people with disabilities. . Mr. Green has been active with the US Chamber of Commerce, VCU Business Roundtable, US Business Leadership Network (BLN), and SHRM. In addition, he currently serves on the Board for the Virginia BLN and a Board member for APSE. Mr. Green holds a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from VCU and has published and co-authored several articles and book chapters on Business and Employment for People with Disabilities. Mr. Green has been recognized for his outstanding training by the National Rehabilitation Association, National Association of Rehabilitation Leaders, and received the RN Anderson Award for Leadership by the Virginia Rehabilitation Association as well as the US BLN National Partner of the Year Award in 2004. He has taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses.

Meg O'Connell

Vice President, Corporate Programs
Charlotte, NC

Meg O'Connell is a nationally recognized disabilities advocate with more than 15 years of disability employment related experience. Before joining NOD, Ms. O'Connell spent ten years as a management consultant and human resource professional for one of the nation's premier consulting firms, Booz Allen Hamilton.

During her tenure at Booz Allen, she worked on large scale human capital initiatives, performance management systems, talent acquisition, and employee satisfaction/engagement assessments. Ms. O'Connell also served as the Chair of Booz Allen's Disability Forum for 3 years.

Ms. O'Connell's history working in disability issues dates back to1996 when she recognized a need for accessible services for deaf and hard of hearing customers at SunTrust Bank. Through this effort, she founded the bank's customer service program for people with disabilities. Within two years, the program spread throughout the retail banking system in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. She also led SunTrust's involvement in disability employment, earning the bank a "Top Ten" spot on We Magazine's list of best disability employment programs, and winning the Society of Human Resource Management's Innovative Practice Award.

In 1998, Ms. O'Connell brought the Business Leadership Network (BLN) to Virginia. She served as the VABLN chair from1998 -2000, recruited 75 companies, and designed the framework for expansion. Since that time, she has helped establish or expand BLN's in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, California, Wyoming, New Jersey, and New York.

Ms. O'Connell is conversationally proficient in American Sign Language.

Miranda Pax

Chief of Staff
New York, NY

Miranda Pax serves as Special Assistant to the President.  Ms. Pax joined NOD in 2007 as a Program Assistant for its employment initiative, where she assisted in fundraising, program reports, and staff recruitment.

Prior to joining NOD, Ms. Pax worked as a legal writer at a law firm specializing in Social Security Disability benefits claims; an intern at a Philadelphia-based tenants’ rights organization; and an intern to the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative in Rabat, Morocco. She graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Law & Society and Religion.

Paul Vargas

Director of Finance and Administration 
New York, NY

Paul Vargas joined NOD in September 2008, and now manages execution of financial and human resources deliverables across the organization.

Before joining NOD, Mr. Vargas served as Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer at Aperture Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting photographic arts. He also worked in various capacities for several years within the New York City Department of Education. He graduated from Bennington College with a degree in English literature.


Wounded Warrior Careers Program Staff

Dwayne D. Beason, Sr.

Senior Career Specialist
Fayetteville, NC

Dwayne D. Beason is a retired Sergeant Major with more than 30 years of service in the United Stated Army. Before joining NOD he worked as a contracted Employment Specialist with the North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department.

Mr. Beason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and Organizational Management from Ashford University. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Human Services at Ashford University.

Charmetri Bulluck

Assistant Career Specialist
Fayetteville, NC

Charmetri is a retired Army Sergeant First Class with over 15 years of military service as a Human Resource Supervisor. A Wounded Warrior herself, she was assisted in her career transition by the Wounded Warrior Careers program. Ms. Bulluck graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and is currently working toward licensure.

Bill Fenson

Career Specialist
Dallas, TX

Over the past 20 years, Bill Fenson has served thousands of individuals with career development, employment counseling, career alignment, job transitions, and small business success. Bill has relocated to Texas from upstate New York, where he started The Skills Emporium, LLC, a private consulting practice. He is a published author of a research book, Implementing and Managing Telework: A Guide for Those Who Make It Happen.

Bill is a past president of the National Employment Counseling Association and has attained their highest honor: the Judy Gohegan-Doi Award of Distinguished Service (March 2008). Additionally, Bill has several years of experience with direct service to veterans, including a close working relationship with Disabled Veteran Outreach Program (DVOP) and Local Veteran Employment Representatives (LVER) and their direct referrals at workforce centers.

Bill holds a Master of Science in Career and Human Resources Development from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

William C. Lockwood

Director, Wounded Warrior Careers
Colorado Springs, CO

Bill Lockwood served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996. Prior to joining the National Organization on Disability, Mr. Lockwood served as Regional Director of Human Capital Consulting for TriNet Employer Group. His previous positions include Director of Consulting Operations for Strategic Programs, Inc., a Denver based Human Resources research and analysis firm; Director of Human Resources for Trust Company of America; Consultant and Vice President of Information Services with America's Job Networks, a national career consulting firm; and Human Resource and Training roles with Titanium Metals Corporation and Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc.

Mr. Lockwood earned his Master's (MMAS) degree in History from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and his undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota.
