New York, NY, April 24, 2012 – The 2012 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list was announced Tuesday night, with many of NOD’s supporters earning top slots on the list. NOD extends its congratulations to all companies recognized for their diversity efforts, including NOD partners and CEO Council members such as ADP, Aetna, The Coca-Cola Company, CSX, Health Care Service Corporation, Kraft Foods, jcpenney, MetLife, Northrop Grumman, Prudential Financial, Rockwell Collins and Sodexo.
In addition recognizing companies for their global diversity efforts, DiversityInc, a diversity management consultancy, released corporate top ten lists relating to ethnicity, gender, disability, and other diversity factors. NOD extends special recognition to the companies who received mention on DiversityInc’s 2012 Top 10 Companies for People With Disabilities. These ten companies are leaders in recognizing disability as a key aspect of workplace diversity and an important driver of business success.
Said NOD President Carol Glazer, “Considering the assets that people with disabilities bring as employees, including low turnover rates and high performance, these companies are already seeing benefits from their inclusive work environments.”
DiversityInc selected the winners by surveying and ranking 587 American corporations on their diversity policies and practices. Honorees displayed an outstanding commitment to diversity in four areas: CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate and Organizational Communications, and Supplier Diversity. Ratios between key factors, such as demographics of the workforce compared with people promoted into their first management positions, played a significant factor in determining point scores.
