Report on Bridges to Business Convening

Research has shown that there is a fundamental disconnect in the labor market between employers and providers of job training and placement services for persons with disabilities. Employers often report difficulty accessing job-ready workers with disabilities, and struggle to navigate the array of public agencies that serve career-seekers with disabilities. At the same time, service providers often lack an understanding of labor force needs.

To help address this disconnect, NOD convened a small group of leading employers and providers of employment services for persons with disabilities to identify practical strategies for employers to increase the employment of people with disabilities. The lessons of this convening create the platform for NOD’s Bridges to Business program, which utilizes employer-driven initiatives that can improve the disability labor market.
