NOD Digital Accessibility Statement

The National Organization on Disability (NOD) is committed to advancing accessibility in every environment, including digital spaces.
A close of of a hand on a computer house, with a corner of a monitor and keyboard just out of focus.

Just 4% of the internet is fully accessible, and people with disabilities face lower rates of tech adoption and digital inclusion. At NOD, we’re working to close this divide, promoting accessible systems, supporting inclusive design, and advocating for ethical use of emerging technologies. We pledge to continuously work to identify and remove barriers across our digital platforms, applications, and electronic resources.

Feedback & Requests for Support

We welcome comments about the accessibility of NOD’s online materials. If you encounter any challenges or notice that aspects of our site do not work with your assistive technology, please let us know:

Commitment

NOD has taken the following steps to ensure the accessibility of our online experiences:

  • Launched an accessible website in September 2025, enlisting the services of Visceral , a creative agency that partners with nonprofits, foundations, and advocacy organizations to create accessible, mission-driven websites. Accessibility is integrated every stage of the process—from content structure and interaction design to development and testing. Visceral builds all sites to meet WCAG standards and ensure digital experiences that are intuitive, equitable, and inclusive for all users.
  • Prior to the website launch, an audit was completed by Digital Accessibility by WeCo, testing for WCAG 2.2 A-AA compliance.
  • Ongoing engagement of web page scans and testing by professionals with disabilities to continually assess and improve the accessibility of NOD.org.
  • Developing toolkits and guides, including “Digital Accessibility in Hiring Technologies” to expose barriers and offer actionable steps toward more inclusive tech systems.
  • Hosting expert-led webinars on accessible design, ethical AI, and compliance with evolving standards, alongside partners from Rochester Institute of Technology, Wells Fargo, and more.
  • Providing wide access to our knowledge base on the intersection of disability and tech, through training modules for learning management systems.
  • Providing guidance for embedding disability-inclusive practices into digital policies, design processes, and technology systems.
  • Regular assessments of our information technology and infrastructure and the application of universal design principles.
