Driving Change
Technology
Advancing digital accessibility, closing the tech divide, and addressing algorithmic bias in the workplace.

Technology Can Create, or Close, Gaps
Technology should be a bridge, not a barrier. Yet for many of us who are disabled, today’s digital workplace is inaccessible, whether due to biased AI hiring tools, poorly designed systems, or lack of accommodations.
Just 4% of the internet is fully accessible, and people with disabilities face lower rates of tech adoption and digital inclusion. As hiring and workplace tools become increasingly tech-driven, these disparities deepen. At NOD, we’re working to close this divide, promoting accessible systems, supporting inclusive design, and advocating for ethical use of emerging technologies. Because technology isn’t neutral. It’s either helping people with disabilities thrive, or leaving them behind.
What We’re Doing
- Developing toolkits and guides, like “Digital Accessibility in Hiring Technologies” in partnership with The Coca-Cola Foundation, to expose barriers and offer actionable steps toward more inclusive tech systems.
- Hosting expert-led webinars on accessible design, ethical AI, and compliance with evolving standards, alongside partners from Rochester Institute of Technology, Wells Fargo, and more.
- Providing wide access to our knowledge base on the intersection of disability and tech, through training modules for learning management systems.
- Providing guidance for embedding disability-inclusive practices into digital policies, design processes, and technology systems.
