Washington, D.C. (February 12, 2026) – The National Organization on Disability is proud to share the inaugural episode of the Let’s Get to Work: Reimagining Disability Employment Policy podcast, part of the work of the Disability Employment Policy Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (DEP RRTC).

NOD is honored to partner on the NIDILRR-funded DEP RRTC grant alongside the Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University, Harvard Medical School, Rutgers University, Cornell University, and Mathematica. Together, this collaboration is advancing research and evidence to strengthen disability employment policy and expand economic opportunity for people with disabilities.

The first episode features disability rights leader Lex Frieden, who reflects on his personal journey and his instrumental role in shaping landmark legislation including the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. In conversation with Peter Blanck, he also explores the ongoing importance of cross-sector collaboration, policy innovation, and advocacy to drive equitable employment outcomes.

We invite our community to listen, read the transcript, and explore the series.
